Abstract

Language in any given society serves as a means of communication. In the Kambari society the language is not only meant for communication, but also to establish and maintain relationships in the Kambari society. Due to the influence of religion and civilization, the essence of the local dialect has been defeated, thereby adulterating the identity and culture of the people. The paper addressed the issue from a psychological perspective, employing psychological theories for the analysis. The paper endeavoured to discourage neglect of local dialect and encourage serious embrace of what is cultural to the Kambari.
